Black Bread has been given the ARIEL Award for the Best Iberoamerican Film at the 54th edition of the ARIEL Awards by the Mexican Academy of theCinematographic Arts and Sciences A.C. Agustí Villaronga and Isona Passola collected the statuette on the 2nd of June 2012 at the Palacio de Bellas Artes de México D.F.
