THE RIGHT TO DECIDE IS A FACT. BUT DECIDE WHAT?

A large majority of Catalan people wish to have the freedom to vote and decide whether they want to have their own state. A percentage of the population has doubts and substantial questions about what position to take in a referendum. They are uncertain about whether it is worthwhile to have a new State. They have profound emotional links with the Spanish people. They doubt the feasibility of a Catalan State. They are afraid that pensioners might not get their pensions, that Catalan companies will lose market share and jobs which in turn would make unemployment raise even further.

The Day After aims at clarifying the numerous doubts of those who are undecided. It provides an open, critical and unconventional analysis of Catalonia’s reality. A perspective that takes into account the daily preocuppations of all Catalans.

THE RIGHT TO DECIDE IS A FACT. BUT DECIDE WHAT?
How should the new Catalan State be?
How can Catalonia have a relationship of equals with Spain?

The film begins with a casting to select the main characters of The Day After. The casting takes place at a factory in Poblenou. The cast: Pep, Andreu, Carla and Sílvia are the characters who will perform the dramatised aspects of the script.

These youngsters assume the responsibility of asking questions. They talk between themselves. They try to summarise the options available. They think that to remain in this present situation is dangerous, because if there are so many people that want to change things, the tension will remain. This marks the beginning of the documentary.
